i have a friend I met six months ago and we became best buddies but then I developed a major crush and fell for him. We are both gay so he wasn’t taken aback (much).
He didn’t mind but then I went overboard and sent him loads of emails and texts, some of them over-the-top romantic and some completely mean. I was a basket case for a few weeks.
He is really annoyed and hurt as I have made some quite serious comments and criticisms about him and his lifestyle.
Went to Doc and he says I have been suffering from depression and hypo-mania and has prescribed me a short course of tranquillizers. (No opinions on diagnosis or prescribed meds please!)
Is there any way I can apologize and make amends to my friend? The idea of losing his friendship is heartbreaking. As it stands, I have lost the friendship but does anyone know of a good way to resurrect it and make peace with him?
(I am getting over the crush. I knew it would be temporary so a friendship would not be a problem on that score)
how would i go about getting diagnosed with depression and possible treatment without letting my mom find out.
I don’t want her to know, really. and i hate talking to people about it because it makes me look like I’m in it for the drugs or the attention..
I just want something to make it go away.

I had planned to go into the field of psychology, but recently I’ve been told that if you suffer from a mental illness, you can’t. I suffer from manic bi-polar and depression, and minor schizophrenia. I also heard that if you get your psychologist to put on your record that the diagnosis is reverse, you can still get the opportunity to get the degree in that field. Is this true?
I havent been diagnosed or referred there by anyone. This will be my first time talking to anyone about my problems. I just know I have problems such as anxiety ADD Depression stress ETC. I have my first appointment next week. They called it an INTAKE or something like that. Do they diagnose me after the first visit? if not, how long does it take to get a diagnosis? Any help is appreciated, I am very nervous. Thanks!
Is this just a general given that people will face or does life style or regret matter?
Do those who LACK faith in God face more anxiety and depression when faced with a terminal diagnosis or do those who have faith still have this anxiety and depression during this time?
Do those who are carefree (will party up their last days…giving no thought to afterlife) face less than those who used to be partiers and now realize that partying offers no comfort and now they have nothing to hold onto?
What type of person when faced in this situation becomes overwhelmed with long-term anxiety and depression?
OR……are there so many factors that come into play?

A person may have an apathetic attititude (not me) abut self maintainance re: life and death related matters. The routine tasks of medication and other means of self preservation may be available, but the individual will only use them at whim. He/she may not be afraid of consequences.
It sounds like depression, but I am wondering if there is diagnosis an/treatment beyond that in definition, if so.
Is it possible to be miss diagnosed with Hypothyroidism? Could it be something else? If so, what exactly?

For anyone with Hypothyroid how do you combat symptoms like fatigue,oversleeping, depression and weight gain? (when exercise and eating right, just isn’t enough)
I have recently been diagnosed with dipolar disorder, Depression, paranoid personalitty and borderline personality features. I also have ADHD which I have known that I have had since 93. I was also diagnosed with High Blood Pressure in January. I want to know what these diagnosis mean and how they will affect me and my family. I am on propanalol for HBP and Anxiety. I am also on Focalin. I have bad side effects to medecine… Any info is great!!!
I am currently switching doctors… I KNOW I HAVE ADHD, DEPRESSION, High Blood Pressure and ANXIETY!!!! The rest I am soooo confused about because I have NEVER been diagnosed with them(or really heard of them), until I went and got a personality test. I just know I want to feel normal. I want to feel like waking up everyday. Right now I could careless if I wake up or not.
I am a social worker and a large number of the clients in my agency see this one psychiatrist and I think he is doing some kind of fraud. There are way to many people that he see and I think he over medicates. He will write a prescription for anything. Some people have diagnosis of bipolar and depression. Depression is a component of Bipolar and is not treated separately. I think he is just over billing Medicaid, insurance etc. How do I report him and can I do it anomalously
I am going to write an essay on Sylvia Plath and her poem Lady Lazarus. I want to talk about her diagnosis with depression and how this contributed to her writing and what she was thinking. Maybe I can also include the differences between treatments from that existed then to what exist now. Also I may be able to state whether her treatment would have effected what she wrote.
