What type of statistical tests should I use to analyze this data…
I am doing a study on the awareness of adolescent depression among high school students and teachers. More than 500 students and 100 teachers were given a survey consisting of three case studies of depressed adolescents. They were asked to answer 9 True/False questions about each case study, so 27 questions total were answered by each person who was surveyed. Of the 27 questions, 9 were testing the recognition of the signs and symptoms of depression, 9 were testing whether he/she could recognize risk factors of depression, and 9 were about recognizing treatment options. Now I have collected all the data, but I’m not sure which statistical tests I can use to analyze it, besides the obvious frequency one (i.e. 32% answered question 1 incorrectly). I’m using EpiInfo, so it would be an added bonus if any of you knew which tests to run in that. But all I really want to know is a little bit about how I can analyze the data using certain statistical tests. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
Use a Stepwise Regression Analysis in order to eliminate false positive results. Create subscales for recognition of symptoms, and for risk factors.
