Please help pinpoint a gynecological diagnosis?
Approximately 1 1/2 year ago, these symptoms showed up after my period and have baffled around 4 gyns. All STD tests have come back negative. No yeast, no trich, no BV. I’m only 20 and this is ruining my life, it has made me go into terrible depression which I only just got out of:
-I used to have a clear, tasteless, and abundant vaginal discharge now it is white, scant, and tastes very bitter
-Extreme cervical tenderness
-My vagina is very raw and red from this discharge
-I used to be able have a lot of lubrication at a drop of a dime, now barely any at all
-Extremely painful deep penetration
-Terrible back pain
-Severe lower right abdominal pain (it used to be an ovarian cyst when I was younger but ultrasounds show nothing)
Please, any help is appreciated. I am leaning towards it possibly being PID. I was on Vibramycin and Doxycycline and it helped a little but it’s back. I was also on Amoxicillin which actually helped the best. But as soon as I get off the meds,it’s back
You may need to leave your local gynes and go to a bigger area for a specialist in infectious disease/gyne. Your best bet would be to go to your closest medical Teaching hospital. Almost every state has a Med. School. I live in South Carolina and we have 2 med schools. I travel the 3 hours each way for a specialist as I have an unusual problem also. They were able to diagnosis and treat it easily. My home town doc wanted me tosee about a transplant and sent me out of state to a transplant center. Nope, just needed some good medical care. I really would suggest this. You might have something as simple as gardenalis vaginitis, an infection caused by over growth of normal vaginal flora. You may have PID like you said but it hasn’t been treated aggressively enough. I say go to the big guys, cost is about the same and the answers are always better.
